FAM Grows its Social Media Presence
On September 7, FAM released its first story from the Hear Our STORIES project on Facebook and Instagram. The fascinating story about disco, funk and R&B singer Sylvester, told by award-winning actor/singer Billy Porter, has over 1,750 views.
On September 20, we debuted the heart-breaking story by Cynthia Piña about losing her entire immediate family to AIDS. On October 2, we introduced the story of poet and performance artist Assotto Saint, told by actress and activist Sheryl Lee Ralph.
In addition, we have multiple posts each week featuring news articles of interest, remembrances and profiles of significant people and events in the world of HIV/AIDS, and cultural stories relevant to HIV/AIDS. Please view and like our stories regularly, so that our stories show up and can be viewed easily in your feed!
Please be sure to follow us on Instagram and Facebook, like our stories, share them with your friends and leave comments. We are working hard to build the following of our social channels so that we can reach wider audiences with our stories and fulfill our mission to Remember, Celebrate & Educate!
FAM engaged DMM (Digital Marketing Management) to handle our social media posts and marketing, and we think they are doing a fantastic job – we hope you agree! Many of the stories from FAM’s Hear Our STORIES project got their start on The AIDS Memorial on Instagram, so please follow that much-loved page if you don’t already do so.
