About FAM

The Foundation for the AIDS Monument is comprised of volunteer Board members who share a passion for ensuring that the history of the AIDS epidemic, both locally and nationally, is chronicled and preserved for younger generations.

Craig Dougherty

Treasurer

Craig founded Union Bank’s entertainment and media finance group, and served as President of the bank’s private equity group. Craig subsequently served as COO and CFO of companies in the entertainment and technology space, including ReplayTV, Ease Entertainment and TodayTix. Craig’s commitment to improving the plight of the homeless led him to the Weingart Center in downtown Los Angeles, where he was Vice Chair. A passion for helping those with HIV/AIDS led him to APLA in the mid-80s where he served as an intake counselor and phone buddy, and taught safe sex in public high schools and college classrooms. In 2010, Craig presented a position paper to Councilman John Duran, proposing the City of West Hollywood partner with a soon-to-be-organized FAM to develop STORIES: The AIDS Monument. Craig and his husband Tony Leonhardt have been together for more than 30 joyous years.
